Today was the first day of the January schedule implementation. It is my duty to look after the kids in the mornings (school and work comes in the afternoons, evenings for me).
But, Aary is having some issues coping with the change. 8:00 this morning she was outside the bathroom door, screaming: "Eggs! Eggs!"
Hurriedly clothing myself, I rushed to the kitchen to commence egg production.
With Haydn, Aary, and myself seated around the table with heaps of scrambled eggs ion our plates (the only breakfast food Aary will eat -- Haydn eats anything and everything), the coping dilemma began.
"C'mon Aary, eat up."
"No! Haf to wate for Mommy, Daddy."
"Sweetie, Mommy and Daddy are at work right now. They'll be back later. In the meantime, you should eat your breakfast."
And that was the start of a very long day. For Aary, eggs + Mike = weekend = Mom and Dad, too. Her world was shattered that they weren't there. Thus, she pulled a Gandhi for the rest of the day and had refused to eat anything until Leah came home at 1:30.
"Mummy! Hungy!"
"What's wrong? Didn't Mike feed you?"
"Nope!"
Arg! Of course not. Kids.
