I certainly hope that this SUNY program goes through. As a student, I have always heard banter from administrators and student leaders, promising tuition reform. However, it has always been idle chatter.

If this 4-year per student tuition cap works out, though, then it will be A new benchmark for Varsity proaction. Legislators, administrators, SU-types would no longer have bureaucratic inability to hide behind while effective reforms are implemented elsewhere.

Really, I'm just amazed that tangible solutions are even being considered; the most that's ever happened here is SU execs making the paper by paying their tuition in pennies, demonstrating that our SU's aptitude for mismanagement of resources rivals even that of our Administration. Meanwhile, the shotgun-toting, witch-burning, cross-bearing, Americans have come up with some practical solutions.

Anyhow, that gives the USA two progressive brownie-points this week.
