Top headline of the Globe and Mail today: "IRAQ WAR BASED ON 'FLAWED' INTELLIGENCE"
Woa, your telling me, buddy.
"Mistakes leading up to the war in Iraq rank among the most devastating [...] intelligence failures in the history of the nation."
Most of the western world and almost half of the american popular opinion had the invasion of Iraq pegged as a bad idea from the get-go. And, seriously, was there
anyone who
actually beleived that there was weapons of mass destruction in Iraq? As far as I had seen, that had been a mere press-time formality; but now, the Bush administration must issue a formal apology; I'm sure the Iraqi peoples will be more than understanding.
The Bush Administration was "actung under flawed intelligence"; yes, yes, yes. But nothing we didn't excpect.
