"who says our system is defunct"
--me. eh.

...especially since the results that both I and the National Post, and the Edmonton Sun have reported are incorrect (those from the Globe and Mail and CBC being correct); that is, the NDP doesn't hold the balance of power (even with the independent -which I'm sure you knew anyway); however: fear not -- another federal election in the near future is inevitable.

However, did you vote? The abstention from voting is almost like revoking one's right to complain. And as a side note, the Greens are too far right for my liking.

Item one: Blogger has stolen Malcolm's campaign slogan.

Item two: 11 000 NDP votes in Edmonton Strathcona

Item three: the election result that everybody wanted (who says our system is defunct?)

So, yes. A liberal minority government, dependent upon coalition with the NDP in order to get anything done; who knows, maybe we can get that proportional reprasentation or some childcare or education subsidies; pollution-credit system anyone? Or maybe we just head back to the polls in six months (I certainly hope not, this campaign was exhausting).
